Four weeks left until the due date.Last night, after researching whether any of the teethers, rattles, etc. that we've received as gifts so far are tainted with BPA or other nasty chemicals (all clear, thank god), it was time to run the baby's clothes through the laundry for the first time.
Everyone says you have to wash a baby's clothes in Dreft, but we have a front-loading washer, which can only use high-efficiency detergent. Unfortunately, from what I've read, I understand that Dreft doesn't make a HE version.
Apparently, if you contact Dreft to inquire about HE detergent, they recommend that you use Tide Free, which has no dyes or perfumes. Luckily, we've used Tide Free for our own laundry for over a year.
Included in the load we did last night was the baby's coming home outfit. I thought that when I folded it, I'd get wistful and a little emotional (based on my recent track record) but I didn't feel a single tear coming.
I guess I just can't get past the whole "laundry as a chore" thing - no matter what I'm washing.
